Why Get A CCH Permit?
The Philosophical Foundation
is for good men to do nothing.
This well-known quote from the 18th century English statesman Edmund Burke provides a solid case for being vigilant to confront acts of evil, not if, but when they occur.
We may wish it to be otherwise but we share the world with others who will do us harm if they can. If we do nothing, they will succeed. If we are ill-prepared, they will succeed.
Our Second Amendment Right
being necessary to the security of a free state,
the right of the people to keep and bear arms,
shall not be infringed
The second amendment, indeed the entire constitution was written to protect the people from government and from the majority. It can be argued that the second amendment was put there so we wouldn't lose the first amendment and other rights. It can also be argued that the founding fathers expected us to be armed, considering it as being necessary to the security of a free state.
Our Personal Responsibility
the police are only minutes away.
Many law enforcement agencies have the motto "To Serve and Protect". They are good at their jobs, they do the best they can and we should be supportive and cooperative. However, almost inevitably, law enforcement responds to events only after they occur. Protection of our life and liberty and that of our families, loved ones, friends and neighbors, is our personal responsibility.
Being trained, armed and prepared is the most effective way to protect yourself and your loved ones from violent attack. If a situation arises where you must protect yourself or others, the mere display of a handgun is often enough. Those who are ill-prepared and unarmed, however, become easy prey and low hanging fruit for criminals, molesters and jihadis.
